Meet Furnish Your Home's Resident Blogger Lynne Lambourne!
We've had an exciting few months at Furnish Your Home; from new product launches to competitions, and a lot more to be announced in the future! However, one of the things that has made us super excited is bringing our brand new resident blogger Lynne Lambourne, the woman behind Love Nellie, on board.
Lynne appeared on the first series of The Great Interior Design Challenge and has since gone onto launch her own company, has been featured on George Clarke's 'Amazing Spaces - Floating Homes' and Gok Wan's 'Fill Your House For Free', alongside a whole host of other amazing opportunities.
Although she loves interior designing and styling, and has a whole host of experience in them, she loves upcycling the most and even won this year's Grand Designs Live Interior Designer of the Year for her room based on an upcycling theme.
Lynne will be joining us on a monthly basis, so you can expect to read fun blogs and watch some incredible videos every single month. They will be packed with tips and suggestions around design, styling rooms, creating wonderful touches for your home and of course, upcycling ideas.
So, who is Lynne Lambourne? Check out our Q&A with our exciting new resident blogger.
Hi Lynne! Tell us about yourself...
I am an Interior Designer, Stylist and crazy Upcycler, and not to forget a Mum of two lovely girls. I live in Henley on Thames and when I am not on the school run I can be found with a can of paint in my workshop!
Tell us about your interior design business and how long you have been doing it?
I started Love Nellie after taking part in BBC2’s Great Interior Design Challenge 5 years ago and have not looked back. I named the company after my Nain, which is Welsh for Granny, as she was such a creative inspiration to me, always making amazing things.
What got you into interior design?
I honestly cant pop my finger on it, but as a very young child I was always rearranging my bedroom and designing wallpaper, my parents tell me I used to spend my pocket money on houseplants!
When I moved out of London to my house in the Henley, that is when I really went mad and started painting and sourcing things and really got addicted to all things interiors.
What has been your career highlight so far?
It has to be winning this year's Grand Designs Designer of the year, for my room set. I loved my room set and knowing that everyone else loved it too was amazing.
Although working on George Clarkes' Amazing Spaces helping Max Mucmurdo build his shipping container houseboat was great fun too.
What do you get up to in you spare time?
Spare time…. what’s that?!
I love to spend time with my two girls just hanging out, and I also love to go to the gym. I find that keeping fit and healthy is so important to helping me get though my crazy to do list.
My gym in Henley is so friendly and motivating it’s like an extended family. Living in Henley, I am spoilt by living near the river so walking along it and open water swimming in it are also some of my favourite things.
What are your favourite interior design trends at the moment?
I am loving the colour teal and the use of gold, there is still a real trend towards the clean lines of the mid-century style design of furniture which I love.
What is your favourite product on the Furnish Your Home site?
It has to be the Ellie Coffee Table such a fantastic style and so affordable.
What can our readers expect from your monthly blogs?
I will be featuring lots of top tips to style your home and some easy makes that can make your house a home. I hope to inspire you to be creative.
